FEATURED ARTICLE ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ TRAFFIC PUMPS And FILTERING TRAFFIC by Bill Wise Adult Web Masters have used traffic pumps and filtering successfully for years. It takes work and time, but, before you build your site, add to your site outline how you want your traffic pumping system to look, plan how you will filter your traffic, and integrate this plan with your overall site design. It is not necessary to have the entire system completed before you put up your site. This can be added to over time, but it will necessary to plan it in advance if you hope to achieve maximum benefit. What is a Traffic Pump? A traffic pump is any device that sends traffic to other sites. Link lists (sites that list certain types of web sites with a common theme), information sites that refer surfers to certain sites for help on the specified topic, small specialty sites that attract a surfer who then realizes he wants something else and is offered a choice of sites to go to, a portal site (an information site taken to such a high level that it becomes the final word on that subject), and large sites that offer large numbers of products but filter potential clients off to more specialized sites are examples of traffic pumps. The idea of a traffic pump is to move traffic from one of your sites to another, always offering the visitor something different to entice him. Thus traffic is "pumped" from one site to another. It takes time and work to build a traffic pump, but, if you expend the effort, your traffic and sales will increase. Filtering traffic means just that. Offer the surfer choices that let him choose what he thinks he wants, and, then having filtered him through the course filter, refine his choices even more. Keep moving him further and further into your sites, but always offer him choices. So you draw him to a large site with many choices then let him direct himself to a specialty site that also offers him other choices, including the main site, until he finds what he wants. Imagine the sun as your central site. The planets are smaller sites. Tie them all to gather with links to one another. Now, traffic will flow from one site to another. You use inventive techniques to interest visitors in going to another site. For example, if you have a site that sells watches online, you would build a central site with all your products listed. Then smaller sites that specialize in certain watches or price point. I would build one site for dive watches. A diver that needs a watch would seek out this site, if he didn't find what he needed, he would find links to other sites offering other types of watches. He might decide that he would rather spend a little more and get a watch that would work as an everyday watch and a dive watch. Dive watches tend to be clunky and not that attractive but some better watches will double as a dive watch. Thus you 'pump' your visitor to another one of your sites. This technique is a favorite of some of the adult sites and has made them millions of dollars. Use it to keep visitors on your sites. Move them around until they find something they want to buy! Good Pumping, Bill Wise http://www.billiondollarwebmarketingsecrets.com DOWNLOAD OF INTEREST ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I still can't believe that so many of you don't have ICQ on your computer! If you want to partner up with people, or chat with your down, or get tech support questions answered quickly then you have to have ICQ! For those of you who don't know what ICQ is, ICQ is an instant messaging type of program similar to AOL's instant messages. I'm not telling you to keep ICQ on and running all the time. I'm not even telling you that you have to use ICQ on a daily basis, but all of you should at least have ICQ on your computer in case you need it. ICQ is a small download and is available free at http://ww.icq.com or through a site like Cnet's Download.com. Please, if you don't have ICQ get it today! There is simply no reason not to have it. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I recently got an ad via email from a person I speak to on a regular basis. The ad was about a new service that had just launched a few hours before the ad was sent and the idea behind the email was to generate some interest in this very new program before someone else told me about it. When I read the email the service sounded interesting so I decided to give it a look. I scrolled down the email, clicked on the website link, and the website address was incorrect! I realize that speed is often the key to success in the fast paced online world, but speed by itself can be a dangerous thing! What in the world was this guy thinking when he sent an email to his list of over 20,000 opt-in prospects without first checking at least the website URL to make sure it was correct? If this person would have taken an additional minute to check his work he could have generated at least one more sale, mine.
